TSU updated their court with a sleek, modern tiger-stripe design, while also paying tribute to a legendary coach from their past.
In 2021, Praters did a complete overhaul of Tennessee State University’s basketball court, marrying bold designs with a classic nod to the school’s unique history.
The new Tigers court features bright blue and navy stripes in the border and three-point areas, and a large navy-and-white tiger head as the center logo.
It also has the signature of John B. McLendon, the legendary hall of famer who coached at TSU for three years in the 1950s.
While at TSU, McLendon led the Tigers to three national championships in a row in 1957, 1958, and 1959. He was the first collegiate coach in history to win national championships consecutively, and both he and the teams were inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
