A fresh sand and paint in 2017 for Cumberland County High School won a national design award.
When a school has a particular design in mind, Praters makes the vision come to life. And that was the case for Cumberland County High School in 2017.
Admin at the school wanted the basketball court to be a point of pride for the community, a place people could come together and see what the Jets were all about. The design features a light blue stain that covers a majority of the floor, which brings to mind the clear blue sky that the Jets fly in.
“Our floor is absolutely immaculate,” head girls basketball coach, Radhika Miller, said. “When other teams come to this gym, the first thing they say is ‘wow!’ And our players take such pride in it. The very first game of the year, we got to run out, and it was all about our new floor. We are so proud to show it off.”
And their new court wasn’t all the student athletes had to be proud of that year, either. The boys and girls teams each had an excellent season. Both teams made it to semi-finals for the region, both became district champions, and both went undefeated at home.
