The 2020-2021 season brought something brand new to the Charlotte Hornets – a City Court. The team played on classic edition courts in the past, but this year joined the ranks of the NBA teams who have a unique design that celebrates their city.

The Hornets have only worn that name since 2014 – when ownership announced that they’d be returning to the team’s roots by changing the name from the Bobcats. This came after a huge movement by fans called “Bring back the Buzz.”

Well, it worked, and now the team has a court and jersey theme to showcase Buzz City. The mint, gold, and granite colorway represent Charlotte’s history as the first location of the U.S. Branch Mint, as the home of the Carolina Gold Rush in the 1800s, and the North Carolina state rock.
